Pride at BUZZY: Meet Pixie, a Queer- and Woman-Owned Cannabis Brand

Pride at BUZZY: Spotlight on Pixie

Pride is about community, visibility, and creating space for people to show up as their full selves.

At BUZZY, we’re proud to carry brands that help make cannabis more inclusive, creative, and representative of the people who enjoy it. This month, we’re highlighting some of the queer-owned brands on our shelves—not just because it’s Pride Month, but because they’re helping shape the future of cannabis every day.

One of those brands is Pixie.

Meet Pixie

Pixie is a queer- and woman-owned cannabis brand focused exclusively on premium pre-rolls made with whole flower—never trim or shake. Built around thoughtful design, quality cannabis, and genuine community connection, Pixie has become one of New York’s most recognizable independent cannabis brands.

Rather than organizing products by traditional strain categories alone, Pixie groups its pre-rolls by the experience they create. Flutter is uplifting and energizing, Wander is balanced and grounding, and Dream is slow, soothing and ideal for winding down. The result is a cannabis brand that feels approachable, intentional, and easy to navigate.

At its core, Pixie creates products for people who care about what they’re smoking and who they’re supporting. Every pre-roll reflects the brand’s commitment to quality flower, authentic storytelling, and building a cannabis community that feels welcoming to everyone.

Pixie didn’t start in a boardroom.

“We started Pixie in our apartment, hand-rolling joints at our kitchen table and selling them at music festivals. Every cannabis brand at the time was trying to look like a tech company, and we felt like the magic was getting lost. We wanted to bring it back.”

That commitment to keeping cannabis approachable, creative, and community-driven remains at the heart of the brand today.

Bringing Queer Identity Into Cannabis

For Pixie, being queer-owned isn’t a marketing strategy or a label added after the fact—it’s simply part of who they are.

“Being queer is just who we are, so it becomes part of Pixie without us having to think about it. Cannabis has always been a way for us and many others in the queer community to feel more connected to their authentic selves, and that belief naturally shows up in everything we do. You can feel it in our design, our voice, the communities we partner with, and the spaces we choose to show up in.”

That authenticity is reflected throughout the brand, from its playful visual identity to the relationships it builds within the communities it serves.

Why Supporting Independent Queer-Owned Brands Matters

When asked what they wish consumers understood about buying from a queer- and woman-owned cannabis brand, the founders pointed to something larger than the products themselves.

“There’s no marketing department manufacturing authenticity here. The people behind Pixie are the same people talking to customers, showing up at events, and forming real relationships in the community.”

Supporting independent brands like Pixie helps create a cannabis industry with more creativity, more diverse perspectives, and more opportunities for founders from communities that have historically been underrepresented in the space.

A Different Kind of Cannabis Brand

While quality flower is always the priority, Pixie’s mission extends beyond what’s inside the pre-roll.

“We take the product seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We make pre-rolls we’d genuinely want to smoke and try to create a brand that feels approachable, thoughtful, and a little different from everything else on the shelf.”

That philosophy has helped Pixie build a loyal following by focusing on what matters most: great cannabis, meaningful experiences, and genuine human connection.

“We believe cannabis has this magic-like ability to help people connect to themselves and each other, and that’s what every Pixie experience is built around.”
